Privacy Policy

This policy describes what information Stillpine collects, why we collect it, and what we do with it. We try to keep this short and honest.
1. What we collect
- Account info. When you register, we store your username, email address, and a one-way hash of your password. We never store your password in plain text.
- Likes. When you save a film, we store which film you liked and when.
- Session cookies. A first-party cookie keeps you signed in. It contains a random session identifier — nothing else.
- Server logs. Like most websites, our server records basic request data (IP address, time, requested URL, user agent) for security and debugging. Logs are kept for a short period and then rotated out.
2. What we don't do
- We don't sell your data.
- We don't run third-party advertising or behavioural tracking.
- We don't share your account information with third parties, except where required by law.
3. Cookies
We use a single session cookie (stillpine_sess) so that signed-in pages know it's you. It is HTTP-only, SameSite=Lax, and is removed when you sign out.
4. How long we keep things
- Account data and likes are kept until you delete your account.
- Server access logs are typically rotated within 30 days.
5. Your rights
You can access, correct, or delete your account information at any time. To delete your account and all associated likes, contact the site operator. Account deletion is permanent and removes liked-films history along with the account record.
6. Security
Passwords are hashed with a modern algorithm (bcrypt via PHP's password_hash). We use HTTPS in production and treat session cookies as security-sensitive. No system is perfectly secure, however; please use a unique password.
7. Children
Stillpine is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has registered, please contact us so we can remove the account.
8. Changes
If we update this policy, the date at the top of this page will change. Significant changes will be highlighted on the homepage for a reasonable period.
